How it works

From day-of-month shape to a real forecast

A naive projection assumes every day is the same. Yours isn't, so we weight the forecast by how your stores actually earn across a month.

1

Daily actuals

Month-to-date net sales accumulate per store, refreshed in near real-time from the POS.

2

Your shape curve

We weight the remaining days by your own same-day-of-month pattern, not a flat average.

3

Projection + status

An end-of-month forecast with a confidence band, and a clear ahead / on-track / behind flag.

By the 5th

Early enough to act

The forecast stabilizes in the first business days, so you can adjust labor and promos while the month is still winnable.

Shape-adjusted

Not a naive line

Weekend-heavy and end-of-month-heavy patterns are built in, so a slow first week doesn't fake a miss.

Dollars to goal

Per store, in dollars

Not just a percentage, the exact dollars each store needs to close, so coaching has a number on it.

Pacing · FAQ

Common questions about pacing

How does the projection work?

Two ways. A linear projection extends month-to-date sales evenly across the remaining days. A shape-adjusted projection weights the forecast by your store's own same-day-of-month curve, so weekend-heavy or end-of-month-heavy months are not under- or over-counted early.

When can I trust the forecast?

The shape-adjusted projection stabilizes within the first handful of business days, which is why operators say they know by the 5th. A confidence band widens or narrows with how much of the month has been observed.

What do ahead, on-track, and behind mean?

Each store's projected end-of-month total is compared to its budget goal. Roughly 101% or more of goal reads ahead, about 97 to 101% reads on-track, and under 97% reads behind, with the exact dollars to goal shown alongside.

Can I pace against last year instead of budget?

Yes. Compare the projection to a budget goal or to the same period last year, per store and for the whole chain, so you can see pace against plan and pace against history side by side.
